Pound Cake With Orange Sauce



Ingredients :

4 eggs

2 cups of sugar

200 grams of butter in room temperature

2 large oranges

2 cups of flour

1 pack of baking powder

Recipe :

Eggs and sugar is mixed in a mixer until the sugar dissolves. Butter that has been melted and cooled is added. 2 oranges with their skins on are divided, passed through a blender and added to the mixture. Flour and baking powder is added to the mix. The mixture is thoroughly stirred with a wooden spoon. A rectangular cake dish is buttered; sugar is sprinkled all over the dish, the mixture is poured and is cooked for 30-25 minutes in a 175 degree oven.

And here is the recipe for the sauce that will be poured over the cake:

Ingredients :

2 egg whites

A pinch of salt

1 cup of powdered sugar

5 tablespoons of orange juice

A splash of vanilla

1 orange zest

2 tablespoons of orange liquor

Recipe :

Egg whites and salt is mixed in a mixer until soft peaks are achieved and the others are cooked with the bain-marie style all the while stirring with a wooden spoon. When cooled, this mixture is added to the white mixture and mixed for about 1-2 minutes. When the pound cake cools, it’s cut lengthwise into two.  It’s soaked with orange liquor. The cream is poured into the middle and onto the top. The cake is decorated with fresh mint leaves.
